As a 11 year old boy, uprooted from a small town in Canada, His insight as to the effects of foreign travel had on himself and other children associated with Diplomatic missions, resulted in an integration of the norms and values from the host country and those from the child's native country into a third culture. Living away from one's homeland can be both rewarding and difficult. Because of their international experiences, Gerry and his friends gained a wealth of insight. They became tolerant of diversity, skilled observers, which served as a model of multicultural education principles. Because of his and other “Embassy Brats”, their expanded world views and exposure to cultural differences, they managed to live outside of their native country for extended period of time, anywhere from three to four years; consequently, they became fluent in at least two languages. Because of their international perspective, Gerry had some distinct advantages, particularly as countries become more interdependent and diverse, unaccustomed to being separated from his homeland, friends and schools help mold and expand his horizons as a teacher and author. Thus, evolved the “Dream Merchants” Journal. Gerry offers the reader exciting Travel & Tourism career opportunities”, as he escorts them through, “The Windows of the World”
